Welcome to the Lower School at the International School of Belgrade.

Located on the grounds of an old Serbian Villa in the charming Belgrade suburb of Senjak, our campus combines historic buildings with modern learning spaces and 21st century technology.

ISB is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate World School.  We offer the Primary Years Programme in English for students in Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) through Grade Five (age 10).  Developed with the needs of the international student in mind, the PYP curricular framework focuses on the education of the whole child by fostering the social and emotional growth of our students while offering a relevant, engaging and challenging curriculum.  At the core of the PYP is a commitment to purposeful, structured inquiry as the basis for teaching and learning.  Our program of inquiry enables students to use their own experiences to connect and make meaning of new information they encounter.  This approach fosters a child’s natural curiosity by developing academic skills while enabling students to acquire a better understanding of the world and their place in it.  Our students are nurtured in reaching their individual potential in a safe, supportive environment. Students are enriched with classes in music, physical education, visual arts, and world languages (French, Spanish, Serbian or English as an Additional Language).
The Lower School campus is happy, active and community oriented.  Our student body, comprised of roughly 200 children who speak more than 30 different first languages, come from all ends of the globe.  Our student government, Students In Action (SIA), provides leadership for our student body by organizing service and spirit activities on and off our campus.  Each year, our students look forward to our many traditions and celebrations, such as our fall Halloween Celebration,  Winter Performance, International Book Fair, Spring Fair along with monthly assemblies where all students enjoy the opportunity to perform in front of family and friends. Children in grades Kindergarten through Grade Five participate in the wide variety of after-school activities that we offer.  Our world-class Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) sponsors a number of events and activities that build community and support school programs.
On behalf of the staff and students of the Lower School, I am pleased to offer our heartfelt welcome to ISB community.
