The project involves a number of Grade 6 students who chose to volunteer for this activity. They are responsible for visiting the Bread of Life offices once per week, and assisting their volunteers in giving computer literacy lectures to senior citizens. The activity takes place on a weekly basis on Thursdays between 3:15pm and 4:15pm. Our students are in charge of working 1 on 1 with the senior citizens who take the computer literacy classes in order to support the BOL volunteer’s lecture. Hopefully, as the time progresses, we will be able to have our students take on the leadership role of actually teaching a lesson themselves. The Grade 6 students are accompanied by two Grade 12 students and a teacher, who are responsible for supervising and guiding them during this activity. Throughout the project our volunteers also participate in planning of lessons with the BOL volunteers, and reflecting on the importance and value of their contributions.
