Summary:
The aim of this course and all PHE classes at ISB in the MYP is to improve cognitive functioning through movement. In Year 1, students will develop basic knowledge of fitness concepts, movement patterns, sports and games. They will also learn basic water safety and harm prevention.
 
In year 2, students will build on their knowledge of fitness concepts, movement patterns, sports and games. They will also learn basic water safety and harm prevention.
 
These programs are the foundation courses for the functional movement units in grade eight.

Required materials:
  • PE kit (sports shoes, clean trainers, PE shirt (not the regular shirt worn during the school day), socks; if outside a hat is required.
  • Special activities (i.e. swimming) will have specialized PE kit announced prior to the start of the unit of inquiry.
We decided as a class that some ways to be more successful in this course are:
