Grades 9/10 Serbian language trip
Students in grades 9/10 had a chance to further immerse themselves in the rich Serbian culture through a visit to a number of important and impressive sites in Vojvodina. Students visited Sremski Karlovci and saw St. Nicholas Church, where paintings of Paja Jovanovic could be seen, as well as visiting Karlovci Grammar School, one of the first high schools in Serbia. Students even got to play a game of basketball against the local school students - result unimportant. The visit also entailed the Fountain of Four Lions, a patriarch’s residence, and the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church, whose rich baroque and pseudo-renaissance architecture certainly captured the student's imagination. To top it off, students also visited the castle of Novi Sad and the underground catacombs. An invigorating learning experience indeed.
