In the previous weeks, students finished the unit of inquiry ‘How We Organize Our-
selves – School’ as a connection to their learning in the homeroom. Through this
unit, students continued to learn about creating different shapes while using con-
trasting colors in order to make the shapes visible. Also, children were choosing ma-
terials to use for expressing themselves while working on their individual and group
projects.
This unit was particularly meaningful for students as it gave them multiple opportuni-
ties for learning to organize themselves regarding the use of materials and tools. Al-
so, students learned that should say when they wish to learn a new thing as well as
to communicate their need for assistance during their inquiry. We appreciate stu-
dents’ initiatives for learning and value their reflections on the works that they creat-
ed.
Students were drawing, painting, creating their mosaic pieces and sculptures the past
six weeks.
December is the month when our Arts Program celebrates student learning, and we
would like to invite you to our Winter Show! The Winter Show will take place in the
gym of the Upper School on December 17th. There you will be able to see the entire
Lower School’s students singing and dancing as well as their individual and group
pieces of art. We look forward to seeing you there!
