 Dear Parents,
 In the previous weeks, students were working on the unit of inquiry ‘How the World
 Works’. Students inquired into how artists use nature as inspiration and elements of
 art to create functional objects. Students were learning about the use of form, line,
 pattern, and color while exploring the style of the artist of their choice - Antonio
 Gaudi or Santiago Calatrava.
 Students have also started to learn about the design cycle so they can develop an un-
 derstanding of how a sketch helps them to develop an idea.
 We have seen creative solutions such as: pencil holders in a form of a shark, pots in a
 form of a tree with a face, sculptures in a form of music instruments for holding pen-
 cils, and many others.
 Students co-created a checklist that they used to do peer-assessment in order to learn
 what they need to improve for the final task.
