At the International School of Belgrade (ISB), our leadership team is committed to fostering a nurturing and dynamic learning environment for our students. Led by our Director and supported by a dedicated group of administrators and coordinators, our leadership team works collaboratively to ensure the success and well-being of our school community.

Dr. Shary Marshall
ISB Director
With a strong background in educational leadership and a commitment to authentic leadership and communication, Director Shary Marshall brings valuable insights to our school community. Her extensive experience, spanning across various international schools in countries such as Germany, the USA, China, Taiwan, Israel, Bulgaria, and Czechia, enriches our school's global perspective and fosters a culture of excellence at ISB.

Primary School Principal
ZALBA, Dr. Jimena

​​Dr. Zalba brings over 24 years of international education experience and a background in leadership and teaching roles across the globe. As Primary School Principal, she brings a wealth of expertise to our school community. Her passion for education and commitment to student success make her a valuable leader at ISB.

Secondary School Principal
LUTLEY, Erik

Mr. Lutley, our Secondary Principal, brings over 25 years of international education experience to ISB. Raised in Iceland and with citizenships in both Iceland and the USA, Mr. Lutley's multicultural background enriches our school community. With a strong foundation in English literature and certifications in international school leadership, Mr. Lutley is dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for our secondary students.


Director of Finance, Business and Legal Affairs
HASANOVIC, Snezana

Ms. Hasanovic serves as our Director of Finance, Business and Legal Affairs at ISB, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. With dual citizenship of Serbia and the USA, Ms. Hasanovic's background encompasses roles at leading companies such as Tetra Pak and Percussion Software. Ms. Hasanovic's tenure since 2006 and professional training from Boston University uniquely position her to oversee all administrative and logistical aspects of running ISB, ensuring financial stability and operational efficiency.

Director of Technology and Innovation
NIKOLIC, Branislav

Mr. Nikolic, our Director of Technology and Innovation, has been a pivotal part of the ISB community since 2005. With a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Information Technology Management from Union University in Belgrade, Mr. Nikolic brings extensive expertise to his role. His prior experience includes providing IT support to ISB since 1996 and serving as an IT Manager at the USAID-dependent NGO, International Relief & Development.

Facilities Manager
ZARUBICA, Goran

Mr. Zarubica, our Facilities Manager, is one of our longest-serving employees at ISB, having been with the school since 1992. He oversees maintenance, custodial services, transportation, and campus security, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. With an Associate degree in History from the University of Belgrade, Mr. Zarubica also plays a key role in organising school events both during and outside regular work hours.

Deputy Secondary Principal
WAIN, Todd

Mr. Wain joined ISB in August 2021 from an international school in Qatar where he worked as the Deputy Head of Primary School and the Director of Sport. Prior to that, he spent four years working as the Head of Physical Education and Director of Student Leadership at an international school in the USA. His professional experience also includes teaching PE at a public school in the UK. Mr. Wain obtained his Master’s degree in International Education from King’s College of London, and his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Development and Physical Education as well as his teaching certificate from Liverpool John Moores University, UK.

Head of Marketing and Communications
VEGO, Iva

Ms. Vego, our Head of Marketing and Communications, brings more than eight years of experience in international education, spanning communications, advancement, program management, human resources, and athletics. Before joining ISB, she held several roles at the American International School of Zagreb, including Communication and Advancement Manager, HR Manager, and Athletic Director, and worked as Program Manager for the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Applied Sciences RRiF in Zagreb, as well as professional certifications in data protection and privacy management from the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity at Maastricht University. With a people-centered and strategic approach, Ms. Vego contributes to the school’s communications and wider community engagement.

Admissions Manager
GARIC, Ivana

Meet Ms. Ivana Garic, our Admissions Manager at ISB. Ivana joined ISB in 2006 as the Primary Principal's Assistant and has since held various roles, including Office Manager and Admissions Officer. With a wealth of experience and dedication, Ms. Garic plays a pivotal role in guiding families through the admissions process and contributing to our vibrant community.

Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator / Primary Assistant Principal
SENTEVSKA, Elena

Ms. Sentevska, our PYP Coordinator and Primary Assistant Principal, has been part of ISB since 2006, serving in a range of teaching, learning support, coordination, and leadership roles across the school. Before joining ISB, she worked for six years at QSI International School of Skopje in North Macedonia as an elementary classroom and Macedonian language teacher. She holds a Master of Education in International Education from Framingham State College, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Arts from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, as well as a Special Education Certification from the State of Missouri and a Leadership Certification from the Harvard School of Education. With extensive experience in international education and student support, Ms. Sentevska works collaboratively to support students, teachers, and families across the ISB community.

Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator
VEILLON, Valerie

Ms. Veillon joined ISB in August 2020 as the Leader of Learning for World Languages and now serves as our Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator. With 11 years of experience teaching MYP and DP French at international schools in Norway, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka, Ms. Veillon brings a wealth of expertise to our team. She has also taught French in the UK and her native France. Ms. Veillon holds a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language from the University of Paul Valery, France, and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Modern Foreign Languages/French from the University of Oxford, UK.


Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator
RIZOPOULOU, Fenia

Ms. Rizopoulou joined ISB in August 2023 as the IB Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator. With a 17-year career in international education, she has held leadership roles, including Director of Teaching and Learning and K-12 Curriculum Coordinator at Shanghai Singapore International School. Ms. Rizopoulou has extensive experience with the IB, serving as an IBEN Programme Leader, Evaluation Leader, Course Reader, examiner, and workshop leader. She holds Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership (UK) and European Culture and Literature Studies (Greece), along with Bachelor’s degrees in French Language and Literature (Greece) and English in Secondary Education (Norway). Ms. Rizopoulou also co-founded a successful school in Greece, where she served as a teacher and Director of Studies.

Director of Student Support Services
REILLY, Angela

Ms. Reilly, our Director of Student Support Services, brings extensive experience in student support, school leadership, admissions, enrollment, and accreditation across international schools. Before joining ISB, she served as Student Support and Accreditation Coordinator at the American School of Antananarivo, Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement at Hong Kong Academy, and Program Leader for Elementary and Middle School Learning Support at International School Manila. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from The Open University, a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Stirling, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Moray House Institute of Education. With a broad international perspective, Ms. Reilly works collaboratively to support students and strengthen student support services across the school community.


School Physician
BALOS, Ljiljana

Dr. Lilly Balos, MSc GP FM has been employed at ISB as our school doctor since 2003. In addition to that role, Dr. Lilly has been in charge of the ISB Crisis Response Manual and coordinates the annual CPR and First Aid training for ISB faculty and staff. After graduating in the field of medicine from the University of Belgrade in 2002. Dr. Lilly obtained her Master of Science degree in Medicine in 2010 in the field of Diabetes in Children. She successfully completed the Specialist Program in General/Family Medicine in 2012. She acquired the General Medical/Family Medicine Practitioner's License from the Serbian Medical Chamber in 2009. Dr. Lilly continues to take university-sponsored medical programs and pursue other professional development opportunities that help her in providing health care services to our students and faculty.

Athletic Director/Activities Coordinator
SINAGUGLIA, Daniel

Mr. Dan is the Athletic Director/Activities Coordinator at ISB, bringing a wealth of experience in sports leadership and education. Before joining ISB in 2023, he worked at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, where he served as an Athletic Director and mentor teacher in Physical Education. A Canadian citizen, he holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Studies with a specialization in Finance from York University in Toronto, as well as a teaching degree in K-12 Health and Physical Education. Prior to his teaching career, he gained valuable experience as a hockey instructor in Canada, focusing on youth development in the sport.
