Art

In the previous weeks, we were working on the Unit of Inquiry ‘How the World Works –
Natural Cycles’. Children were drawing, painting with watercolors and paint, and creating
forms with play dough. Our focus was on learning how to change colors in order to make
them lighter or darker. All the light colors that children made we called ‘day colors’ and the
dark colors ‘night colors.’ Svetlana Spasic-

As every year, the PTSA organizes The Spring Fair Art Competition. All the students, par-
ents, and teachers are invited to participate. The theme is ‘Extra-Ordinary.’ The partici-
pants should choose an everyday life object and portray it in the most extraordinary way.

The participants can produce either a:

 2D representation of the ordinary/extra-ordinary object (approx. paper size A4 or
square 30cm x 30cm): or

 3D model (up to a height of approx. 20cm)

If required, the art teachers can provide paper or other art materials that are readily availa-
ble. Note: No digital photography or graphic art will be accepted.

The submission deadline for participation in the Art Competition is 3pm on Friday April 7th.
Entries can be handed in to the art teachers: Ms Spasic Glid at the Lower School; Ms Jovo-
vic at the Middle School; and Ms Skoric at the High School.
