Music

Tambourines, bells, egg shakers, and drums – all of these percussion instruments were
in action as PreK students worked on developing their ability to maintain a steady beat.
Helping them achieve this goal were also numerous stomping and clapping exercises
we did in order to learn how to listen, take turns, and follow the beat. Putting it all to- Ljudmila Janicijevic
gether and combining our skills, we sang Zip Bang Hulaballu as well as Sad King, adding Music Teacher
a beat of a drum to our voices. Our composer of the month was Federic Chopin.

Movement & Dance

PK-3 and PK-4 students observed changes in nature as a part of the PYP unit Natural
Cycles. In Movement and Dance classes we addressed this unit through action. We let
our bodies become blooming buds, and autumn leaves or snowflakes dancing in the Ivana Jovanovic
wind. Children showed outdoor activities typical for each season and shared games M&D Teacher
they usually play with their peers. At the end of each class we set aside a few minutes
to play Night and Day. This game brings a lot excitement and laughter to our class.
