In the previous weeks, we finished the unit of inquiry ‘Who We Are –
Together’ as a connection to the students’ learning in the homeroom.
During this unit students had many opportunities for work in groups
and on their individual pieces of art. Students illustrated the stories
read in the beginning of the classes and they chose materials for ex-
pressing themselves in different exploration corners. Students were
offered a new material to learn about– charcoal, which they used for
Halloween. Due to this we have started talking about the use of dark
and light colors.
Also, we have started creating the visual continua for following the
children’s growth during the school year. The visual continua consist
of the students’ pieces of art and the photographs of the students’
works.
