In the previous weeks, students have started working on another unit of inquiry under
the transdicsiplinary theme ‘How We Express Ourselves.’ The unit ‘Imagination’ is a
connection to their learning in the homeroom. Through this unit, students had oppor-
tunities to work on their individual and group projects, although the entire unit relies
on team work.
Students were using their imagination for creating their visual images for the acronym
– Respect (each other, self, property, empathy, care, and tolerance), which initially
came from their homeroom. The goal for these activities was for students to choose
materials that best suit their needs for expressing their imagination for creating post-
ers. We created posters for every grade level and for adults to sign. The final task for
the children was to create a group piece of art for our school’s celebration in Decem-
ber. Children had much fun while working as a team!
December is the month when our Arts Program celebrates student learning, and we would
like to invite you to our Winter Show! The Winter Show will take place in the gym of the
Upper School on December 17th. There you will be able to see the entire Lower School’s
students singing and dancing as well as their individual and group pieces of art. We look
forward to seeing you there!
