Dear Grade 4 parents,
These final months of the school year 2014-15 students have been really interactive in Grade 4
Spanish lessons!
Working on their Animals unit, the students made presentations of different animals and created
Kahoot quizzes for their classmates! They enjoyed so much taking part in each other´s quizzes
and researching about their favorite animals! As a final project the students worked in groups
and made their own animal encyclopedia including the detailed descriptions of animals on their
choice, their habitats, nutrition, growth, physical characteristics and lifestyles. What interesting
facts we have all discovered about the animal world! The new students also elaborated on their
animal books by talking about animals´ body parts, eating habits, habitats and movements and
using simple structures. We practiced the singular and plural of verbs in Present Tense, focus-
ing mostly on the verbs poder, saber, ser, tener, comer, saltar, caminar, volar.
In June we continued by exploring more about the culture of Hispanic countries. We learned
about their flags, geographical features, music and dances, famous people and typical dishes
and traditions! The students worked in pairs and choose a Spanish speaking country they
would like to know more about and make presentations about them in the class. We were very
pleased to research into the amazing Hispanic world and enjoyed its richness and diversity.
Since the summer holidays are approaching, if you are planning to travel to any Hispanic coun-
try, take the opportunity to use your children as a source of information. No matter what your
destination will be, I wish you all a pleasant time with your children and a lot of fun during the
vacation!
