Dear Parents,
Kgt students presented their highlights of the “Sign & Symbols” unit at the school assembly at the
beginning of the month. Using opposites in music, such as presto/largo, and forte/piano, they pre-
sented the well known “Bumble Bee” action song.

Using shakers to practice the steady beat, students improved their performance with sounds. They
also explored sounds of recorders through the wind instruments music family.

Working in groups, students were able to improve both activities of singing alone and with others,
which helped them control the dynamic and further polish their singing technique.

This month we also explored other ways to respond to music using hand jives. While dancing to the
rock’n’roll music, students explored their body movements, making a great choreography.

Next month, our focus will shift to wind instruments and we will begin playing recorders. We are also
excited about our future plans to work with other students on creating the Winter Concert.
