  In the previous weeks, students have started working on the unit of inquiry ‘Where
  We Are in Place and Time,’ while learning about storytelling through African textile.
  Students were learning about use of pattern and color during various activities. Stu-
  dents were mixing the primary colors individually and in teams in order to make
  secondary and tertiary colors, which they used for their printing projects.
  Since printing is a demanding technique, students were practicing the skill over
  three weeks so they can learn how to plan and create a project. We looked into Afri-
  can textile on internet and in The Museum of African Art. We are lucky to have
  such a valuable resource near the school and even more thankful to the people
  from the museum that brought the textile from their storage for us and answered
  the students’ questions.
