Dear Parents,
In the previous weeks, students were working on the unit of inquiry ‘How the World Works.’ Stu-
dents inquired into how artists use nature as inspiration and elements of art to create usable objects.
Students were learning about use of form, line, pattern, and color while exploring the style of the
artist of their choice - Antonio Gaudi or Santiago Calatrava.
Students have also started to learn about the design cycle so they can develop an understanding of
how a sketch helps us to develop an idea.
We have seen creative solutions such as: pencil holders in a form of a shark, pots in a form of a tree
with a face, sculptures in a form of music instruments for holding pencils, and many others.
