MS. LJUDMILA JANICIJEVIC

 Dear Parents,
We are all exited to share our music-related knowledge with you at the upcoming Stu-
dent Led Conferences. As a part of our preparation, we have been focused on playing
 percussion instruments.
As a part of a music band, grade four students created authentic accompaniment for
familiar music tunes. They also sang in groups, focusing on expression.
This month students mastered their merengue beat and their percussion skills. They
also turned back on melody as a music element.
Students also played keyboards and xylophones by memory, combining rhythmic and
melodic patterns. Grade four made great progress in grasping the concepts of melo-
 dy, rhythm and dynamics.
Next month we will develop our singing and playing coordination, being at the same
time responsive to dynamic changes. We will also focus on parts singing in Lighting
up the Flame, the song for Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where our school is in-
vited to take a part in recording.
Last but not the least, we will continue developing ideas for our own Music Story, by
drawing and creating accompaniments for our ideas.
