Dear Parents,
In previous weeks, students were working on the single subject unit of inquiry
‘Where We Are in Place and Time’, while exploring sculpture in past and present
time.
Group 4B students researched ancient sculptures and group 4A researched contem-
porary sculptures in order to choose which art form they will learn about. As a result
of that, students were learning about Easter Island’s Moai sculptures and two con-
temporary sculptors, Brancusi and Calder. That way every group of students has an
opportunity to contribute to creating the unit.
Students inquired into different art styles and created their work using clay, paper,
wooden parts and wire. We finished the unit with a reflection.
