Dear Parents,
We were all exited to share our music-related knowledge at the Student Led Confer-
ences. As a part of our preparation, we have been focused on the theme How We Or-
ganize Ourselves. A number of musical forms were inquired into. Students worked in
groups, created authentic compositions with lyrics, movements, instrumental and sing-
ing parts.
Grade five students demonstrated great collaboration skills last month. They grasped
all concepts fine. Especially worth of mentioning was how well they created a variety
of lyrics, to pass their important messages for the Exhibition groups.
Besides, split in groups, they developed ideas for their future performance, using
rhythmic sticks, posters, movement, and echoing.
Grade five continued to play in the band, mainly concentrating on xylophones and
keyboards.
Next month string instruments will be introduced in the band. Also, students will de-
velop their arrangement for Lean on Me.
Furthermore, they will begin singing in 3 parts in Lighting up the Flame. Blending
three voices will be a completely new experience for them.
Songs of the month were: Take Five, Lean on Me, and Brick in the Wall.
