Physical Education

Dear Parents,

Throughout March, aside from enhancing their gross motor skills, Second graders
focused on team work. We practiced our communicative and cooperative skills since
they are very important for all team games. Using a variety of props, such as jump
ropes, the cooperative blanket and buddy walkers, students were exposed to
different challenges in order to reach a common goal.

communication at all led to failure. The activities we took part in really encouraged
students to share their ideas in an appropriate manner, to listen and respect each
other and try to find the best solutions together.

Later on, along with improving our throwing, catching and shooting skills, we fostered
our team spirit through games such as Benchball (a variation of Basketball), Scoop-
ball and Knock-down, to name a few.

Music

Second graders worked on putting together a complex performance involving sing-
ing, dancing, and musical accompaniment. Using body socks and boom whackers,
playing piano and xylophones, and singing in Latin, students performed “Adiemus.”
In addition to this complex performance, we mainly worked on further developing
our vocal abilities through songs such as “Onward,” “Rock My Soul,” Turn it Off,”
“You Can Build it,” and “Step by Step.” Lastly, our musician of the month was Phar-
Ljudmila Janicijevic rell Williams. We sang his latest hit “Happy” with an accompaniment – focusing on
