French

Dear third grade parents,

Here is the sixth newsletter for the French class in order to keep you informed about
the things we have been learning during the last period.

Dubravka Kostanjsek
French Teacher Since you have last heard from us, we finished our Unit about different professions
and places of work and moved on to our next topic about famous buildings and mon-
uments in Paris, important for French culture. This will allow us to learn new vocabu-
lary, but also to practice space orientation, reading maps and describing on one
hand, and on the other hand, what it means to build a solid structure in a language,
since we will focus on structuring sentences, word order and agreements in different
groups of words.

Thank you for your time and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

EAL

Beginners Group

Kelly Campbel
EAL Teacher Grade 3 students have just finished the book My Father’s Dragon! The whole class

really enjoyed this book and the library has the other two books in this series.
While the students are still highly interested it would be a great opportunity to
check out one of the books to read together at home. We are finishing up all of our
related assignments for the book. I hope to display their hard work for a few weeks
before sending home the posters that they have completed. The good news is that
they all enjoyed reading so much that they are begging for a new book to read in
class! We will turn our focus on creative writing for a few weeks before jumping
back into a book. Enjoy the holiday!
