French

Dear fifth grade parents,

Here is the sixth newsletter for the French class in order to keep you informed
about the things we have been learning during the last period.

Since you have last heard from us, we have been filming our stories on one hand
and, on the other hand, reviewing various topics we have learned so far. The stu-
dents have started working on the topics they had chosen for their exhibition.
Dubravka Kostanjsek They are doing their inquiries individually or in groups, investigating their chosen
French Teacher topic and through that, they have the opportunity to practice reading and listening

comprehension. Once they have gathered all of the necessary information, they
will write short paragraphs about these topics in order to prepare their contribu-
tion for the exhibition. It is planned for each piece of work to be in both languages,
French and English.

Thank you for your time and please feel free to contact me if you have any ques-
tions.

Serbian as a Foreign Language

Grade 5 completed their global simulation project through creating brochures for
their islands. The goal was to describe an island as a tourist destination; to think
about what their island has to offer and to write short persuasive text about it. Stu-
dents took this project seriously and had excellent ideas about which interesting
places to visit, activities and accommodation, keeping in mind that their island is a
deserted place. They completed this project with imaginative and professionally
Ivana Jovanovic looking brochures. We used Microsoft Publisher and all students are ready to use it
Serbian language Teacher
for their future assignments, and of course, for the upcoming Exhibition.
