This school year brought many new friends to ISB.
It appears that our Pre-Kindergarten group is always full of energy and ready for challeng-
es.
The most important thing for us at the beginning of the school year was to learn how to
be safe in PE classes. Playing in a group we practiced taking turns, sharing common
space and respecting our classmates and ourselves while playing.
Alongside from this, we practiced handling different props; (bean-bags, hula-hoops, and
soft balls). We worked on exploring and developing our basic gross-motor skills and hand-
eye coordination. We also focused on increasing our spatial awareness. Using hoops, we
learned about personal and group space and how, even though we shouldn’t invade each
other’s space, we can share space safely.
During the month of September we learned new group games that we can play together
with friends, (Day and Night; Simple Tag and Duck, Duck, Goose). Through these games
Pre-Kindergarteners realized that we can have a lot of fun when working together in a
group but only if we respect each other.
Our youngest students also had a chance to take a trip to “Playland,” (A small castle con-
sisting of tunnels linked together ).While enjoying the time spent going through tunnels,
hiding from and seeking their friends, students were applying what they've learnt about
taking turns, sharing space and playing fair. We are eager to learn new games and fun
activities!
