During October Grade 1 students focused on devel-
oping balance and coordination while using props.
We used sticks and scarves and tried to complement
dynamics of movement (fast/slow, big/small, tense/
relaxed) to our props. Connecting to Materials Matter
unit, we analyzed the purpose and appearance of
particular props and costumes in dance. Nice Octo-
ber weather gave us a lot of opportunities to spend
time outdoors and practice cooperation and organiza-
tion through various games.
