How do we express ourselves? This is any artist’s constant ques-
tion. For second graders, it also happened to be a theme for their
unit of inquiry. Naturally, we made a connection and used this op-
portunity to go on an exciting field trip to Belgrade’s Philharmonic
Orchestra. There, students had a chance to listen to some of Ser-
bia’s best artists performing and expressing themselves. This time,
it was one unique and authentic version of Tchaikovsky “ Nutcrack-
er.” Creativity of the artists from the philharmonic orchestra inspired
us to explore our own creativity as well. After familiarizing ourselves
with the new songs such as “Gloria,” and "Gong Xi."
