Dear Parents,
Kindergarteners worked very hard during October on developing and improving their
gross motor skills.
Students tried to give their best in various obstacle courses and group games we
played.
Running faster, jumping further or higher, keeping balance in different positions, as
well as throwing bean-bags as far as they can are just some of challenges kinder-
garten students met with great enthusiasm.
We will continue to increase our locomotor and non-locomotor skills throughout the
school year.
In October we started the unit called “Ball Handling.” Different sized balls, more and
less bouncy, helped us to become better in controlling the ball by hand and foot.
Besides hand dribbling and moving at different speeds, we worked hard on passing
in pairs. We practiced overhead and underhand throwing, kick passes and shooting
into a goal. We learned proper positioning to catch rolling and fly balls.
Of course, we always find time to play games.
“Brownies and Fairies,” “Magician tag,” “Helicopter” and “Sharks and Sailors” are
our favorite, so far.
