In the previous weeks, students finished with the unit of inquiry ‘How We Ex-
press Ourselves –Symbols.’ The children reflected on their learning about the
use of contrasting colors and pattern. Also, children created their final task for
the unit.
We have started working on the unit of inquiry ‘How We Organize Ourselves –
School,’ while continuing to explore the use of contrasting colors and pattern
through different media. The goal for this unit is for students to understand that
everyone has a role in this school. The new technique of weaving was offered
to students to explore this concept. During this unit, students will have opportu-
nities to choose between two materials and techniques as well as to explore the
teacher’s and their roles during class.
Children were painting, drawing, weaving, and creating collages and play dough
sculptures.
