During January we focused on dialogue and persuasion. The
students visited websites of Serbian tourist agents. They learned
the target vocabulary and are now familiar with the techniques
they use to attract customers. Then, we read a dialogue that
takes place in a tourist agency. In the story, the customer is not
satisfied with an offer of an agent. The students collaborated to
develop a travel plan tailored to fit this customer’s needs. They
created a destination (an island), with hotels, interesting sites as
well as special plants and animals that can be found there.
Then, they wrote an offer to a customer, and practiced oral flu-
ency through describing and advertising their destination. As a
closing activity, they wrote a different end for a story they began
with.
