Kindergarten students continued developing their understanding of senses,
as well as their use in playing keyboards and xylophones. Being focused
on reading music symbols, holding mallets of xylophones and fingering on
keyboard, they polished their listening skills. They also practiced seeing
and hearing conductor’s cues.
Kindergarten students improvised with different rhythmic patterns, creating
longer phrases and accompaniment for the Japanese song “Furusato.”
Next month we will continue to enrich and polish arrangement for the band
accompaniment involving percussion, string and keyboard sections.
Songs of the month were “Banana Boat Song” and “Furusato.”
Story of the month was “Jazz Fly.”
Musician of the month was Harry Belafonte.
