PK-3 students observed changes in nature as a part of the
PYP unit, Natural Cycles. In Movement and Dance classes
we addressed this unit through action. We let our bodies be-
come blooming buds, and autumn leaves or snowflakes danc-
ing in the wind. Children showed outdoor activities typical for
each season and shared games they usually play with their
peers.
As a connection to the PYP unit Toys, PK-4 students learned
about games and interactions. We explored different ways of
playing games and discovered that games can be played with-
out toys. Then we learned that games have structure, they
change over time and through playing with our friends we dis-
cover and learn new things.
At the end of each class we set aside a few minutes to play
Night and Day. This game brings a lot excitement and laughter
to our class.
