Throughout May Kindergarteners worked on improving their running and jumping
abilities in the Track and Field unit.
Starting on a designated signal and running short dashes from different positions
helped us to increase our speed and agility. Through a variety of games, we were
engaged in running for extended periods of time, increasing our heart rate and im-
proving our endurance.
Our young athletes had a chance to try hurdles and even though many of them had
doubts about completing the run, they all faced the challenge bravely and truly en-
joyed it.
Relay races with a baton were great fun for all kindergarteners. They displayed
strong team spirit by running their fastest, cheering for their team and supporting
other runners to complete the race.
Practising the basics of broad and long-jump techniques, we worked on improving
our jumping abilities too. We counted the number of jumps needed to reach the
length of the world’ long jump record and tried to beat our own record with every
attempt.
