   Dear Parents,

September brought a lot of new friends and new games for our Kindergarteners.
The Physical Education (PE) program started with a unit on Body Awareness and Games of simple or-
   ganization.
We learned the names and key vocabulary related to our body structure. Through different activi-
ties we found out which parts of our body can bend or stretch, which parts we could twist or turn,
and how to keep our balance in various positions.
We practiced moving safely through group space, moving slowly and quickly, and changing direc-
tions in space. We had a lot of fun taking our “Museum walk” – where students worked on in-
creasing their balance while making interesting steady postures (“statues”), using a variety of body
parts, at different levels in space.
We also focused on handling a variety of equipment (such as bean-bags, balls, hula-hoops and
scoops), on improving our body and space awareness, along with eye-hand and movement coordi-
   nation.

After reviewing games that we played last school year, students worked together and learned some
new, fun games such as: Crocodile tag, Brownies and Fairies, Helicopter, and Sharks and Sailors.

Kindergarteners are now moving towards enhancing their gross motor skills and their body coor-
   dination.
