Dear Fourth Grade Parents,
Here is the second newsletter for the French class in order to keep you informed about the things
we have been learning during the last period.
After finishing our “Heroes” Unit, we started working on our new Unit about giving and under-
standing instructions in various situations.
Throughout this Unit, we will look into: logical order of instructions and words that help us organize
our thoughts, structures used in instructions and various types of situations in which instructions are
used (recipes, directions for use of various domestic appliances, directions for use of mobile phones,
computers, video games etc, directions for crafting). While practicing understanding instructions, we
will also look into verbal forms necessary when giving instructions (the imperative mood) as well as
logical connectors encountered in that type of situation. Once we have all of the tools, each student
will imagine an object that could be useful in our everyday lives, write a manual for it and present it
to the class.
For Halloween, we reviewed basic vocabulary linked to that topic.
It will be my pleasure to see you all soon and discuss your child’s work and progress.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
