Dear Parents,
In the last couple of weeks fifth graders worked on our Basketball Unit, as a first team-games unit
this school year.
We became more successful in basic skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting. We worked on
increasing control over the ball while dribbling and changing direction, with and without the oppo-
nent player guarding us. We practiced our accuracy in passing the ball on short and long distances
while moving along the court, as well as in the ground shots and lay – ups.
We learned a bit more about team work, basketball rules, the concept and simple strategies of the
game though the matches we played or observed, as well as through group discussions that followed
the games.
Now we are moving forward to our Soccer unit and we are very much excited about new activities
that we will take a part in.
