Music

MS. LJUDMILA JANICIJEVIC

We are all exited to share our music-related knowledge at the upcoming Student Led Conferences. As
a part of our preparation, we have been focused on getting introduced to wind instruments and ex-
ploring the ways they can create sounds, but also on learning musical terms and symbols. The latter
ones helped us to start, stop, rest, and take turns while playing an instrument. Our preparation has
also included playing recorders, with special attention paid to breathing and fingering techniques.
In March, PK students continued expressing themselves by exploring different music stories and
  sounds of the classroom instruments.
There were a few more fun and educational activities. We practiced singing and body coordination,
primarily being focused on hands and steady beat. Students loved doing it, especially through
games Baby Shark and Wake Up - Shake Up.
PK students also enjoyed creating and dramatizing Turkish song “Let’s Go to Adana”.
Watching animations for Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and his Moonlight Sonata inspired as greatly
to create our own music stories.
As for classroom instruments, PK students continued using recorders, egg shakers and xylophones.
Songs of the month were: Hello to All the Children of the World and Let’s Go to Adana.
Next month we will start drawing and sharing ideas for our class story.
