Dear Parents,
Over the month of February Pre-Kindergarten students continued working on their basic ball han-
dling skills.
This time we focused more on controlling the ball with our feet. We practiced basic foot coordina-
tion while trying to maintain control over the ball around the gym, and stopping the rolling ball by
our foot. Working in small groups and passing the ball to each other, students were developing their
basic kicking skills, as well as their aim. We tried to make our first scores into the goal, with and
without a goalkeeper being in our way.
We are about to start our new unit on small apparatus games, in which our youngest students will
explore different ways to safely handle hula-hoops and jump ropes. We will work on improving our
manipulative skills and movement coordination.
