During May, our focus was on balance. Students per-
formed a variety of activities that emphasize static
and dynamic balance – hop scotch, obstacle course,
bean bag balance, crab walk, stork stand, and walk-
ing on a line. In addition, students were free to ex-
plore their bodies and display activities that show
balance.
As a connection to the PYP unit Stories, we drama-
tized Aesop’s fable Cricket and Ant. This was a great
way to connect units Minibeasts and Stories. Drama
was our year-round focus and Grade 1 students
have become good and self-confident performers.
