Dear Parents,
In the previous weeks, students finished working on the unit of inquiry ‘Who We Are
– Senses’, as a connection to their learning in the homeroom.
Students explored their sense of touch, sight and hearing while working in drawing,
painting, collage and sculpting technique. Throughout this unit students focused on be-
ing communicators while giving instructions to each other while playing games, de-
signed for students to develop an understanding of the use of senses in art. Students
learned about the use of shape and color. During this unit, students were introduced to
a new element of art - texture.
Students worked in teams in order to plan for the game for the final task. The goal was
to exclude one sense, and give each other instructions for work and then change roles.
Students reflected on the use of senses individually.
