Dear Parents,
As a connection to the PYP unit Simple Machines, we read and discussed a book What
Makes Things Move by Althea. The book is about forces, motion and energy, and it
helped us improve our understanding of all the conditions that affect movement of
objects and living things. Then, we explored how movements can be linked to create
sequences. Students worked in small groups and used their bodies to construct simple
machines. This activity was an opportunity to practice communication and organiza-
tional skills – the students did great.
